Mr. Strom worked for almost two decades in the U.S. Senate and currently serves as Vice President of Congressional Relations at Parry, Romani, DeConcini & Symms. In this role he has advised clients and advocated on their behalf before the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and the Administration.
The clients have been diverse including the Recording Industry Association of America, Verizon, Motion Picture Association of America, Intellectual Property Owners, International Interactive Alliance, Pandora Media, Inc., and many others.
Over the years in the private sector Mr. Strom has focused primarily on technology legislation that impact the telecom, cable, and internet industries. Chief among these issues are net neutrality, cybersecurity, FISA reform, privacy, and patent reform.
Working in the U.S. Senate, Mr. Strom held a number of positions ranging from Staff Assistant to Chief of Staff for a U.S. Senator and later served as Chief Counsel and Staff Director on the Judiciary Committee.
As Chief of Staff, Mr. Strom was responsible for formulating and directing policy in all areas of the Senator’s office. Later, serving as Chief Counsel and Staff Director on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary for the Republican members, he was the chief strategist and legislative advisor on all legislation and nominations referred to the Committee. He worked daily with officials from the Administration as well as outside interest groups and different constituencies to find common ground where possible on all matters within the Committee’s jurisdiction.
Mr. Strom holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University.
